Most folks would assume that if your are right handed, you shoot right handed, and left shoots left. But this is not actually true. You shoot based on your dominant eye. For example my hubby is left handed but he is right eye dominant. He still shoots left handed, but could switch and possibly shoot better if he did. He even bats and golfs with his right. My daughter is right handed but shoots with her left, she is only 6, so this may change eventually.
For those who are wondering, by right handed or left handed I am discussing the draw arm. Typically a right handed bowman draws with the right and holds the bow with the left.

To test your dominant eye, take a look at the image above.
- Find an image or object across the room from you.
- Hold your hands out and frame the object in a triangle of your hands. a small triangle is better.
- Close the left eye, does the object vanish or move?
- Close the right eye, does the object vanish or move?
